Och even th...'More controversial jumpers.'

Och even that debate would just degenerate into cardie-bargie.

The lack of general interest among Scots reflects the fact that the movement for independence is top down. A million Catalonians came out to demonstrate for independence because their movement is bottom up - but the big Scottish rally for independence last year in Edinburgh attracted only about 12,000 according to the organisers (less according to the cops, but let's be generous).

And as Tom Hunter said, the debate is rubbish.
Edwin Moorehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05317173893948248954noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2586389062182728098.post-75757982780141718382013-05-26T06:13:30.389-07:002013-05-26T06:13:30.389-07:00Agree there is a feeling of the whole campaign bei...Agree there is a feeling of the whole campaign being in the doldrums, but maybe that was the plan all along. But the biggest challenge to the referendum is getting wider engagement, beyond the converted on both sides- true for politics generally. As parent of teenagers 16 & 19 there is no shortage of views, but little effort made by parties to think how to engage. For this floating voter in Twitter and blogland this might be helped by more open debate and honesty and less point scoring by both 'sides' in the debate.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
