You don't keep a people 'coralled' against their will; if the rerunning of a referendum was made specific in the SNP manifesto then an overwhelming majority for the SNP in the next Holyrood elections would be a demonstration of that will.<br /><br />The issue of course is, if it were made specific that an overwhelming majority for the SNP were to result in another election, would the SNP actually get that majority? <br /><br />At the moment all of the "rerun the referendum!" sabre-rattling can go on quite safely in the assumption that it won't happen and just reinforces the "this is all the fault of Westminster" narrative. Blog posts like this play into that narrative. <br /><br />Let it be known that if it is demonstrated that the will of the Scottish people is for another referendum then it will happen.
